La stampa su carta dal libro "Kräuterbuch" di Leonhart Fuchs del 1643 (una ristampa eseguita a Basilea del libro originale "New Kreüterbůch", pubblicato nel 1543 sempre a Basilea), presente nella Biblioteca Statale ed Universitaria della Bassa Sassonia (Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek) a Göttingen (Germania) nel Reparto dei Manoscritti e Stampe Rare (Abteilung fuer Handschriften und seltene Drucke), codice (Signatur): 2 BOT I, 1100 RARA), è denominata "Feldzwibel", il nome volgare ed antiquato per ornitogalo, che in Italia viene frequentemente chiamato Latte di Gallina. Erroneamente è stata inserita a mano la dicitura "Wilde Narzisse" (narciso selvatico), ma è pure vero che per molto tempo molte specie bulbose vennero definite in Europa Centrale "Narzisse".       

Nella tavola l'Ornitogalum sp. (forse O. umbellatum) è ritratto con i fiori, probabilmente ingialliti nei secoli, ed anche con le foglie ed il bulbo.

The colour print on paper from Leonhart Fuchs' book "Kräuterbuch" of 1643 (a reprint carried out in Basel of the original book "New Kreüterbůch", published in 1543, also in Basel), present at The State- and University Library of Lower Saxony (Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek) in Göttingen (Germany) in the Department of Manuscripts and Rare Books (Abteilung fuer Handschriften und seltene Drucke), code (Signatur): 2 BOT I, 1100 RARA, is named "Feldzwibel", the common German name of Ornithogalum in its archaic form. The erroneous denomination "Wilde Narcissen" (wild daffodils) was added by an unknown hand, however it must be remembered that in Central Europe for a long time many plant species with bulbs were called "Narzisse".

The painting represents Ornithogalum sp. (possibly O. umbellatum). The whole plant including leaves and flowers, as well as the bulb are shown. Correctly the characteristic growth of a leaf above the flowers is reproduced, while the colour of the tepals is eccessively yellowish, probably due to the age of the book.
