La silografia dal libro "Kreutterbuch" di Hieronymus Bock del 1551, presente nella Biblioteca Statale ed Universitaria della Bassa Sassonia (Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek) a Göttingen (Germania) nel Reparto dei Manoscritti e Stampe Rare (Abteilung fuer Handschriften und seltene Drucke), codice (Signatur): 4 BOT I, 920 RMAG),  rappresenta un Lilium, probabilmente L. bulbiferum.

Si tratta di una bella immagine, accompagnata da una descrizione estremamente precisa, in cui viene presa in dubbio l'informazione degli antichi sulla possibilità di far artificialmente fiorire gigli bianchi con colori diversi. Inoltre viene ridicolizzato l'uso del nome Narcissus per tante bulbose, compreso il giglio. L'autore dice: "Es muß ja ein jeder seine Narcissos haben." ("Ognuno deve insomma avere i suoi narcisi.")

This is a very nice image, accompanied by an extremely precise description. The doubt is expressed on the information dating from ancient authors about the possibility of growing artificially  white lilies with other flower colours. The author also writes about the rediculous use of the name Narcissus for various plants, including the lily. He states: "Es muß ja ein jeder seine Narcissos haben." ("Everyone must just have his own Narcissos.")
